A Cult In Amarillo???????

November 29th, 2009 admin Leave a comment Go to comments

Yep, it’s true.  A cult right here in Amarillo, Tx.  I know it’s hard to believe but they have been public here for about a year.  They reared their ugly head on New Years Eve. in 2008, calling themselves Repent Amarillo, marching back and forth in front of a party and event rental building on the channel 10 news.  They are led by a charasmatic yet somewhat bumbling fellow named David Grisham  a Pantex security guard (yep your tax dollars fund this idiot) and his mini me son Russell a convicted computer hacker who’s only claim to fame before his current job starting riots at teen events and then filming them, was to hack into AISD’s computers and get caught…pure genius!

Since then they have teamed up with another cult group known as Raven Ministries, together spreading hate and misery in front of businesses all over Amarillo.  More can be learned from this group on their website which includes a warfare map of businesses and churches…yep churches…in Amarillo that need the attention of the groups “soldiers”.  Yes that’s right, the website which is a shameless copy of the United States Army website ( you would expect more creativity from someone convicted of hacking…but I digress) states it’s purpose as to recruit “christians” as “spiritual soldiers” for this fanatics “spiritual warfare”  Now remember this nut is paid to carry a gun at Pantex by our government.  Your tax dollars at work!! The last time I remember a religeous nut asking his followers to fight for God it was David Koresh in Waco….but that worked out ok…..right?

So why does this matter?  Why am I bringing this to your attention?  Simple, as an Amarillo citizen myself I am shocked at how this group operates and moreover that the city officials in Amarillo continue to enforce this groups freedoms at the expense of the freedoms and rights of it’s businesses and citizens.  I encourage everyone who reads this to take a few minutes of your time and visit their website and see for yourself how they operate and then contact our city officials so that we can let them know that this behavior will not be tolerated in our community and if they can’t or more aptly won’t take action that we can elect people who will.

Is it ok with you that this clown brigade can show up outside your business because they don’t like the type of business you are in or the type of people who patronize your business?  As it stands right now they can show up and harrass everyone going in or coming out of your business with the full support of the Amarillo Police Department….yep it’s true, check the Globe News site, it’s there.

Let’s take a stand Amarillo.

I absolutely agree with what you are saying! The city officials keep saying, “well, we can’t violate their constitutional rights.” That is true; however they are violating ours in the process. We are citizens and we have a right to live our lives as we see it (as long as we are not breaking the law). We are not breaking the law, the city officials have already said so. I realize that these idiots have the right to stand on the sidewalk and protest what they do not agree with. BUT, they do not have the right to harass people, to threaten people, to call people’s family, to stalk people, and especially to call people’s employers.

The sad thing is that these people call themselves Christians. They say that they are out there to witness to people in the hopes of turning people toward the light of God! Well, this ain’t the way to do it. I have personally heard them say that they are perfect and that they do not sin. Hogwash!!! We all sin…and no one is perfect. Read your Bible jerks…..it says so. The way to witness to people is to be kind, considerate, loving, supportive, etc. The intent of witnessing is to love people! It is not by hurting people!

Furthermore, I personally have seen these people in action. I have witnessed them harassing people, I have witnessed them tormenting people, I have witnessed them calling women whores (including myself), and I have witnessed them stalking people. The stalking mind you is from them following people around in vehicles watching their every move. Is this what we want happening in our city? I think NOT!!! It is time for the citizens of this town to stand up and say NO MORE!!!!! We need to take back control and show these bullies that while they have the right to live their lives as they see it, so do we and it is NOT acceptable to hurt the members of this community because they chose to live a different way!

Amarillo, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!! It has nothing to do with whether or not you agree with the people they are doing this to. It has absolutely nothing to do with your beliefs. It has to do with this being a free country! No one is asking for you to change your way of life or your way of thinking… We are only saying that it is time we stop people like Grisham and his followers from hurting good people to fund their own cause!!!

Unlawful assembly is a legal term to describe a group of people with the mutual intent of deliberate disturbance of the peace.

Does this not describe EVERY single Repent Amarillo function??? Come on APD!!!

So I have been to a few of the places Repent Amarillo has been when they are protesting. I actually have a group of friends who has been with me to protest them. They have actually told people that they are damning their children to hell. Last time i checked our own sins damn us to hell not those our parents commit. They say they don’t tell people they are going to hell but I have heard it. They record peoples faces and threaten to post it on the internet. They actually recorded my face and when I got in the cameras guys face and told him not to record me he continued to. I then asked what he was going to do with the recording and he said whatever I want. I know the media laws and they can not post anything without your written consent and if they do they can be sued. As well I thought in the post 9/11 world we were taking threats seriously. I mean they threaten to post video on websites that can cause people to lose their jobs. Is this not a legitimate thread or do we need them to threaten our lives first.

Hey admin…..I just wanted to post again because you said something in your post that reminded me of something I heard. I heard that Grisham isn’t allowed to carry a gun at work. If this is true….it sure does make a person wonder why.

Oh, and wethepeoplerepresentative, even if they do threaten our lives… I am sure that the APD and the city would require us to provide proof of the threat before they would take it seriously. That is all they keep saying is show us proof, show us proof. AND when we do have proof, they disregard it anyway and say that they cannot violate the group’s constitutional rights. Aint this a bunch of crap?

Imanoid, I was not aware of that, I stand corrected. But I agree it does bring up the question as to why? And what good is an unarmed guard at Pantex? I guess that makes Pantex just as safe as…well the mall. Paul Blart to the rescue. I do know that he was fired from there at one point but the guards union fought to have him reinstated…one can only imagine what he was fired for and an even bigger question is why they brought him back.

I personally believe that it’s only a matter of time before this group turns to just the type of threats that you are referring to. The group in Waco started with about the same fanfare and Waco authorities ignored them much like Amarillo is ignoring this nut. I hope the federal government doesn’t have to step in here as they did in Waco. Maybe our officials will wake up before it’s too late.

I agree what kind of proof do they want? Audio proof will that be enough. I’m more than willing to bring my voice recorder and as long as I participate in the conversation I can record it the conversation. Or do I need to get out my video equipment I’d have to have there permission to shoot them I wonder if they’d give it to me hmm.

That’s a good idea, the more people we can get to take notice of this cults activities the better chance we have of regaining the safety our community once offered.

Hello, I am not a Texan, but I want to offer my support for you in your fight against intolerance and hate. Is it true, as February’s article in the Texas Observer reports, that the leader of this group works for a nuclear-bomb facility? And he dares to speak in the name of the Prince of Peace? What a hypocrite!

Jesus knew all about these people; they may be found in all times and at all places. He preached a sermon against them, Matthew 23; read it, and you will see that it is all too familiar. They love to quote the Bible on their website, but their hearts must have been clouded over if they ever read that passage.

It is the people of Repent Amarillo who need to look into their hearts and repent.
